Honda is the same company that once gained superiority in every segment it entered. Its CR-V ruled the Sports Utility Vehicle segment for many years, City was a big name in entry level sedan and its Accord was a symbol of authority in executive segment.

Honda is now all geared to become a dominating force once again; after announcing the Honda Amaze as its entry into the Asian diesel car industry, to be launched in 2013, the company now plans to introduce its efficient and small compact car Jazz in three variants including a sedan variant.

The Jazz sedan, according to sources, will be launched by 2013 and will be dubbed as Honda Fit. The Amaze and Jazz sedan are expected to uplift the diminishing aura of Honda. The company also has set a target of 18% increment in sales five years from now and these models are expected to contribute a lot. Prior to this Honda mainly concentrated on petrol engines without giving the due importance to diesel engines.
Once successfully launched the three variants of new Honda Jazz are expected to give a tough competition to cars like will Chevrolet Sonic, Hyundai Accent, Ford Fiesta and Nissan Versa globally. The company’s New Mexico plant will be base for the production of Jazz sedan. The company’s exports to United States are also supposed to get affected from Mexico plant.

However, the Jazz sedan is still in very early phases and its entry in Indian market is not yet officially confirmed, but one thing is for sure it will surely be welcomed when it comes to India. Indian auto market has seen a remarkable growth in compact sedan segment, and if Jazz sedan enters Indian market then it will compete with Maruti’s SX4, Volkswagen’s Vento, Hyundai Verna Fluidic and Renault’s Scala.

The prices and details are supposed to be revealed closer the launch date. But according to sources the Jazz sedan will provide highly improved mileage, stylish interiors, space and modified looks. The sedan will also be launched in a cross over version that will compete against Ford Ecosport and Renault Duster.
