The Honda Accord is a very capable and competent family vehicle. It might not be the first choice of the car consumers who are considering a buy because of its premium prices. Honda on the other hand, cannot be blamed for attaching a premium pricing to the car as it does provide a lot of quality though it is not an extra-ordinary package with overwhelming features to attract abundant takers. Thus, Honda has upgraded the entire range of the Accord models with superior engines to make the sedan more attractive and appealing to the prospective Accord buyers.

The Accord is a very old and steady brand from the Honda house that had made a global debut over three decades back. The Honda Accord was first introduced to the world back in the year 1976, after which it had made its appearance in several auto markets around the globe including India’s. Honda Accord has remained an essential staple of the Honda models profile as much as the other old star, the Honda Civic.

Under the hood, the Honda Accord continues to be available in its 2.0-litre and 2.4-litre petrol engine options, which over the time have been given mild upgrades. However, the more popular Accord model seems to be the 2.2-litre diesel variant that is very popular in the U.K market. Unfortunately, the diesel Honda Accord is not available in India, as Honda has just ventured into the Indian diesel market first time with its new Brio based Amaze sedan. Before the Amaze, Honda it did not have any diesel offering in the Indian terrain. According to the company, the 2.2-litre diesel motor has received really comprehensive upgrades, so much so that it can be mentioned as a new engine.

The latest generation of the Honda Accord range is really worth a look as its design has considerably evolved over the time. The overall looks of the vehicle is really admirable as it looks far classier as well as expensive as compared to the older generations of the model.

A couple of years back the entire Honda Accord range was refreshed with new headlights, great sporty fog lights, a newly designed grille, refreshed air-conditioner vents and a brand new bumper to perk up the front fascia of the car. The vehicle’s rear end also got more stylish with the inclusion of a new bumper, a new finish for the rear lights as well as chrome trim above the number plate, along with new 17-inch alloy wheels that were available on the ES and ES-GT models. The company also offered three new body colours, namely, Celestrial Blue Pearl, Alabaster Silver and Graphite Lustre metallic along with the previous colour options.

The recent engine tweaks of the Accord have also improved the CO2 emissions for the entire range. The Aerodynamic changes and enhancements of the 2.0 i-VTEC petrol variant of the Accord have helped it achieve a lower emission from 159g/km, to 9g/km. The Honda Accord has thus, emerged as a consistent sustainer in the Honda family of premium cars.
