The Honda Jazz

Honda Cars India used to sell the very capable and globally popular Jazz hatchback in India, but phased it out last year due to low sales owing to its high pricing and lack of diesel counterpart. However, Honda is now all set to re-launch the Jazz in its all new avatar along with its diesel version. The new generation Jazz is set to be launched in India by the end of this current year.

Unveiled at the first 2014 Auto Expo, the new Jazz, for the first time, is being offered in both petrol and diesel guise. It is based on an entirely new platform on which the new City sedan is also based. The premium hatchback has grown in size and looks more alluring with a great new front fascia and a new bonnet with a bolder chrome front grille and attractive hawk eyed large headlights. The new hatchback is based on the company’s new global design philosophy of “EXCITING H” and offers more space than before.

The all new 2014 Honda Jazz will be coming with two engine options under its hood, namely the 1.2 liter i-VTEC petrol engine that drives the popular Brio hatchback and a 1.5 liter i-DTEC diesel motor that also runs the Amaze and the new city. The petrol engine has the capability to churn out a max power output of 87bhp, while the oil burner will have a max power of 98bhp. The car will be offered in both the manual as well as automatic transmission gearbox.
