Honda India launches new “Discover Amazing India in Honda Amaze” web series featuring Chetan Bhagat

Honda Cars India has released the first episode of its “Discover Amazing India in Honda Amaze” a web series, featuring the well-known Indian author Chetan Bhagat. This is a unique promotional approach for Honda’s very popular compact sedan, the Amaze.

This Honda web series is about exploring some amazing and breathtaking places in India, travelling in a Honda Amaze. The first episode of this series features Chetan Bhagat who is shown to be visiting the unexplored, submerged Holy Rosary Church at Shettihalli village of Karnataka. The church got submerged in the water of Hemavathy River during the construction of the Hemavathy Reservoir 20 years ago. This submerged church emerges only during the summers when it can be accessed. The primary attraction of this church is that despite being submerged for over 20 years, some of its parts are intact that attract tourists. Locals celebrate the emergence of church from water with a feast in every April.

The Honda Amaze web series will try to identify and highlight many other such unexplored, yet beautiful and interesting locations in India.

While speaking on this unique association with Honda, Chetan Bhagat said, it is very exciting to be associated with Honda India and getting to travel to great places, which are like undiscovered jewels of this wonderful country. The concept of this web campaign is really very interesting and innovative. He added that he is looking forward to discover more such amazing Indian places while driving in a Honda Amaze.

The Senior Vice President of Marketing & Sales at Honda India, Mr. JnaneswarSen said that the digital medium has gained significant momentum in the past few years. With the emergence of smart phones, many more users now access the internet.  Honda has always been a proactive car brand in the digital platform and this new web campaign for the Honda Amaze is a part of its strategy of engaging and entertaining its customers.

The upcoming three episodes of the ‘Discover Amazing India in Honda Amaze’ will be shot after identifying more such suitable truly amazing locations in the country which will be done in another unique and engaging way. Honda will arrange a web contest inviting viewers’ participation to locate such places. The viewers can nominate a unique place which they would like to visit and the reason for its uniqueness. The participants can submit their entries on Honda Cars India’s website and official Facebook page. The entry submission for the contest is open till 10th of January 2015 on www.amazelongestdrive.com.

The contest three most amazing winning entries will be featured in the remaining web episodes. These upcoming episodes will be featuring the winning participants who will be driven to their amazing locations in a Honda Amaze.

The “Discover Amazing India in Honda Amaze” web series is part of Honda Cars India’s several Amaze campaigns including the “Amazingly Indian” campaign, a TVC and the ‘Longest drive through Amazing India’ campaign that is a Guinness World Record winner.
