Honda Cars India Limited is confident of its engine efficient models and aims to export diesel power trains to the European and Asian market from India. The company has recently launched the first ever diesel car, the Amaze which is also branded the most fuel efficient car with an amazing mileage of 25.8 kilometers per liter. To add to the lineup of successful models, the company will introduced three to four new diesel cars to enhance the profit turnover of the company.

According to Jnaneswar Sen, the senior Vice President of Honda Cars ‘’ we will export diesel engine segments to South East Asian and European markets from India. Our target for this fiscal is Rs 500 crore compared to Rs 332 crores in 2012 to 2013.’’

He also said the company is confident about the profit turnover of diesel engines, even with the removal of subsidies on diesel cars by the Indian government; the demand for diesel cars is still on the rise.

Honda Cars India aims to introduce four new cars such as a multi-purpose car with seven seats, new City and Jazz and a compact SUV. These cars will be rolled out with powerful engine capacities of 1.5 or 1.6 liters. The petrol model will be equipped with 1.6 liter engine.
The company has built a new plant in Rajasthan at an estimated cost of Rs 2,500 crore, the operations in the factory will commence in 2014. This new plant will hopefully strengthen the sale output to 2.4 units as quoted by company officials.

Sen said during the launch of Amaze in Hyderabad, ‘’the government will create a balanced in and out flow of revenue in the auto industry in India. The automobile segment in Europe is facing an all time low which would make it easier for European officials to sell their cars in India.’’

Honda cars have dominated the car segment in India with the City, Jazz and CR-V being extremely popular on Indian roads. In terms of fuel efficiency and engine capacity Honda cars are powerful and a worthy buy for some of their models are priced attractively. The Amaze is the first diesel car launched recently, the car appears trendy from all angles and will have cut-throat competition with the Dzire, Chevrolet Cruz and so on. The boot space is also an admirable feature of the Amaze which is 400 liters sufficient to fit in weighty luggage. The interior room is sufficient to accommodate many passengers, the fuel efficiency is beneficial for long distance commuters to enjoy a pleasurable and stress free drive to your workplace.

The introduction of a range of diesel cars in India is a new venture by Honda, since the Amaze is the first diesel car to sell in India. Let’s wait for the new diesel launches. With the auto segment in Europe declining, it is a profitable strategy though over by Honda India to sell European cars in India, and both firms can work together to introduce many more stunning and fuel efficient cars.
