Honda City 2014 India

The 2014 Honda City will be the sedan’s 6th generation model, and it is said that the all new car from the house of Honda will be getting unveiled in the Indian car market on 25th of this month. Moreover, the introduction of the all new 2014 Honda City in India will also be the car’s world premiere.

The all new Honda City is developed on the 2014 Jazz hatchback’s platform and has a complete new appeal when design language is concerned. The new sedan will also be bigger in size and obviously better in every aspect. After its launch in India, the car will hit the market for sale early in 2014.

Following are the 7 key factors about the all new 2014 Honda City:

  1. The all new 2014 Honda City will come with its diesel avatar for the first time in India. Its turbocharged diesel engine will be a world first as well.
  2. The Amaze compact sedan’s new 1.5 liter i-DTEC turbo diesel engine will be featured under the hood of the new sedan though with certain tweaks.
  3. 2014 City’s 1.5 liter diesel mill would generate more power and torque values as the sedan is heavier as compared to Amaze.
  4. The all new City will be costly than the Amaze and thus Honda is expected to improve the engine and make it quieter. A quiet cabin is what the C segment car buyers look for and it will also ensure that the all new City competes better with the likes of Fiesta and the segment leader Verna.
  5. The all new City will definitely also come with its petrol variant in the global markets, including India.
  6. It is expected at in future, Honda may also introduce a CNG variant of the all new City.
  7. With the new generation model, Honda is looking to claim the leading spot in the segment that the City once occupied before Verna.

Honda’s decision to bring in the new City with its diesel variant is primarily based on the super success of the Amaze compact sedan, which has a waiting period latched to it owing to unquenchable demand. Honda wishes to recreate the magic with the upcoming 2014 City as well. If Honda can price the sedan as aggressive as it did with the Amaze, then the City can surely claim back its lost glory.
