The global car majors are all working to develop a safer and greener future mobility system. The Japanese car major Honda Motor is also a part of the same agenda and in a bid to promote safer collision-free driving, the company is developing a car that will be have the ability to detect pedestrians crossing the road and halt on its own. This new intelligent vehicle is actually a new level of automated driving and will help the driver have a safe driving experience, as the car will have the ability to navigate its own way avoiding obstacles and through heavy traffic.

Honda City 2014 Unveiled

Honda Motor is reportedly working on a new electronic Accord hybrid sedan at the company’s R&D centre in Tokyo. The Japanese car maker has named the new technological development as the co-operative autonomous driving. This electronically controlled Honda Accord will have astounding driving sense, as the car will be able to corner the roads, halt at pedestrian crossings all on its own with the car’s stereo camera seeing and directing the car’s partial automated driving system.

The amazing electronic Accord hybrid sedan is also equipped with a Wi-Fi, a short range camera along with whole bunch of flashy LED lights that alerts the occupants of the car about the condition of the outside motoring environment.

This is another shot at the automated driving that is a dream of every auto maker. Though none of the global auto makers has still been able to come up with a technology that will be able to make a car drive all on its own, a lot of auto makers are coming up with some sort of partial automated driving feature. Apart from this pedestrian and traffic sensing and smartly negotiating Accord Hybrid, Honda has also recently demonstrated its driverless valet parking system. This system enable a Honda car to park itself in a parking lot and also come back to a particular pickup point with the help of onboard and reverse cameras. However, the automated valet parking requires specially equipped parking lots with CCTVs that will work as the guidelines for the car. Thus, the electronic Honda Accord Hybrid is definitely a better shot at the technology as it also encourages safe on road performance. The Accord Vehicle if and when hits its production version will also prove to be a boon for the pedestrians, as it has the ability to stop on its own when it detects a pedestrian stepping on the road before it in order to cross it. This technology can really prove to be benchmark in the safety system for cars.

This technology from Honda when successfully implemented can really help to save many precious lives, as study shows that an incredulous number of people die due to road accidents. Such an effort from this Japanese car major is really commendable and appreciable, as it really encourages road safety and an overall better future mobility system. Such efforts will be definitely mimicked by other auto makers.
