The most in-thing in the global auto industry is probably the Fuel Cell technology. There is really a great amount of enthusiasm, speculation and interest regarding this supposedly ultimate green technology to change the future mobility system. This technology is expected to turn the entire auto industry around and make it absolutely eco-friendly and efficient if and when it totally replaces the conventional cars running on fossil fuels. All the major global car makers like Toyota, BMW, Hyundai, Nissan, General Motors, etc. are busy working on this technology, getting rid of the major hindrances and produce their ultimate green cars.

The Japanese luxury car maker, Honda is definitely not behind and is gearing up to present its very own FCEV (Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle) concept at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show. Honda obviously has big plans for the Tokyo auto show that begins on 20th of this month, and has a number of new models and concepts up its sleeves. The Japanese car major is expected to showcase the same at the Los Angeles Auto Show as well, which will simultaneously with the Tokyo Motor Show; however the company might have one exclusive concept for LA.

Honda’s FCEV concept will give the world’s audience a preview to the design language that the company is going to adopt for its new Fuel Cell Vehicle that is scheduled for its launch around 2015. The company obviously already has its own Fuel Cell vehicle in the form of the FCX Clarity which is offered in very few numbers through lease.

The senior vice president of the American wing of Honda Motor, Mike Accavitti said that the Honda FCEV Concept displays the company’s idea for the future personal mobility system and the company’s commitment to develop great performing advanced alternative fuel cars. He added by saying that as the company work towards the introduction of Honda’s next generation fuel cell vehicle in the year 2015, the company’s lengthy experience in the field of fuel-cell technology will help the company make its way towards a future mobility system which is totally emission free.

Honda does have a long experience in fuel cell technology as the company has been producing quality fuel cell cars by the introduction of the FCX back in the year 2002, which was followed by the launch of the FCX Clarity later. As per the company, the vehicle is given out on lease to around just 24, who are taking advantage of the superb green technological advancement that went into the making of the FCX Clarity. The FCX Clarity has been getting really favorable feedback from the customers and this car will serve as the base for the upcoming mass produced Honda FCEV.

Honda explains the FCEV’s design concept as really futuristic and sleek. The vehicle flaunts a design that is inspired by the wind or air going with its hydrogen power.

Thus, green car lovers will have a major gala both at the Tokyo and LA Motor shows, both of which begin on 20th November.
