The recently launched Honda Fit aka Jazz in Japan has managed to topple Toyota Prius from its pedestal as nation’s top selling car within a month of release. Honda aims to continue this trend by launching this car in United States in 2014 and defeat top position held by Toyota Camry. Since Honda’s Civic sedan has managed to overtake sales of Toyota Corolla in United States, it appears that beating the Camry will not be a tough feat for Honda Fit. The hybrid version of this small car has managed to outsell Toyota Prius hybrid version which has been a market leader for a long time due to better fuel efficiency. This car is sold in Europe, South East Asia, Middle East and Africa as Jazz and has been in market since 2011. The new Honda Fit introduced in Japan during September 2013 it a third generation car.

The Honda Jazz aka Honda Fit has been built as a smart car with versatile body and technically advanced features to meet needs of a tech-savvy generation which is conscious about fuel efficiency and environmental pollution. As a manufacturer of several fuel efficient hybrid cars Honda aims to maintain its image as a builder of smart reliable cars. The Fit will have a height adjustable power steering with superior handling capability to make driving on busy traffic laden roads smooth and tension free. To improve luggage space in the car its front and rear seats have been kept free and there are cup holders on rear seat armrests which can be removed when not required. The Honda Fit had earlier broken Toyota’s sales records in January 2013 at Japan. Recently government has withdrawn subsidies given to green car manufactures leading to slide of Toyota’s Prius sales which had remained steady since 20 months. Though the Honda Fit has managed capture Japanese market due to lesser price with recent launch, Toyota’s Prius still remains Japan’s top hybrid car.

Market reports suggest that the Honda Fit aka Jazz will be available in United States and other Asian markets only towards end of 2014 and in Europe by 2015. The Honda Fit hybrid car has managed to sell at lower prices since it recently carried out remodeling of its gas-electric engine making it more powerful and compact therefore creating more space for car’s interiors. While the Toyota Prius has been an award winner and more fuel efficient than Honda Fit, recent changes have made the Fit cheaper by several thousand dollars. Within months of release the Honda Fit’s sales have surged by fourteen percent as declared by Japan Automobile Dealers Association recently. In a recent press statement by Honda Motor Co’s president Takanobu, sales of most Honda hybrids has increased significantly. The Honda Fit aka Jazz has benefitted chiefly from its improved engine coupled with streamlined body which together has been responsible for better sales. The subcompact Honda Fit is also available in several interesting color options like Blue, Black and White.
