Japanese luxury car maker, Honda has a very aggressive plan to take the Indian car market by storm. Honda Cars India has already expressed its wish to emerge as the leading car maker of the Indian auto industry, and the car major sure seems to have planned well for that. Apart from a constant planned attack with brand new cars, Honda is also using diesel cars as one of its key weapons. With the astral success of Honda’s first diesel car offering in India in the form of Amaze, the Japanese car major has found that diesel cars can be its primary assault on the Indian market.

After, the Amaze, Honda has already launched the all new City in the beginning of this year along with its first time diesel version. The new sedan model with great looks, host of features and a diesel variant grabbed the public attention that was intended by Honda. The new City is hoped to gain its long lost segment leadership aided by its much wanted diesel counterpart.

Honda is not definitely going to stop at that and has more diesel offerings up its sleeves. The next launches from Honda include the all new Jazz, also called the Fit in some markets. The all new Jazz’s launch in India is going to be its resurrection in the domestic market, as it was discontinued for its expensive price tag. However, this time around, it is expected to be priced very competitively.

The Honda Jazz premium hatchback is now also going to come with a diesel engine option. The 2015 Jazz diesel made its debut at the recently held Detroit Auto Show and is expected to be showcased at the 2014 India Auto Expo.

The car will be offered in its regular petrol version powered by a 1.2 liter iVTEC petrol motor producing 86PS of power and 109Nm of torque, while its diesel variant will be powered by a 1.5 liter diesel engine that delivers 100PS of power and 200Nm of torque. The Honda Jazz will have 5 speed automatic gearbox that is used on both the Amaze compact sedan and Brio hatchback.

The all new Jazz is developed on a new platform and looks very different from its previous generation model. The car looks much sharper and visually appealing and has an aggressively styled front fascia along with snazzy tail lights at the back. However, the basic structure and few design elements of the Jazz have been retained that made it popular worldwide. This very stylish and contemporary hatch has also become bigger and longer that its predecessor to offer more space and comfort. The bigger proportions also ensure a larger boot space.

Honda has also tweaked its mechanics in order to offer a better stiff steering and enhanced suspension. These changes ensure that the new Jazz offers a more pleasurable driving experience.

In India, the new Honda Jazz will lock its horns with the Hyundai i20 and VW Polo.
