The all new 2014 Honda City launches in India starting at Rs. 7.42 lakhs

The much awaited all new 2014 Honda City has finally launched in the Indian market. The fourth generation model of the City sedan has launched in the country with a starting price of Rs. 7.42 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Japanese luxury car maker made the world premiere of the all new City in Delhi on 25th of November, 2013 after which the car opened for pre-bookings across the country. Now, the all new City has hit the Indian market for sale and its price list has been officially revealed.

The all new 2014 City has become bigger, more stunning with more premium interiors and has come along with its first time ever diesel version. The new City now flaunts a more stylish front fascia along with a new front grille, it car gets redesigned sporty bumpers as well as stylized headlights. While the new city has retained its overall dimensions, it has got increased wheelbase that translates in enhanced cabin space.

The 2014 City’s also flaunts very stylish and bold lines running on its sides that give it a sleeker look, hiding its increased bulk, while its great new alloy wheels make it more elegant. The new model also gets redesigned attractive tail lamps and a chrome garnish above the number plate to heighten the premium appeal.

The all new Honda City comes with an array of features as against its preceding models. The 2014 model includes push button start, rear A.C vents, steering wheel mounted audio controls, touch screen infotainment system, reverse parking camera, cruise control, premium leather seats and also the first in class touch screen climate control among many others. The sedan’s safety features includes dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, and the Honda’s passenger injury mitigation system.

The all new 2014 Honda City is being offered in six body color options and an interior color theme of black and beige combination.

Under the hood, the first time City diesel is powered by the popular Amaze’s 1.5 liter i-DTEC engine that delivers 98bhp of power and 200Nm of torque and offers the ARAI certified highest fuel efficiency of 26km per liter. The new City’s petrol variants are powered by the 1.5 liter i-VTEC engine, which delivers 119bhp of power and 145Nm of torque with a fuel efficiency of 18kmpl. The petrol engine has a choice of 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic transmission, while the diesel mill is coupled only to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The all new 2014 Honda City is going to lock horns with the current segment leader Hyundai Verna, Skoda Rapid, Renault Scala, Volkswagen Vento and Nissan Sunny. Honda will commence the delivery of the diesel variants immediately while that of the petrol models will commence from the middle of next month.

The all new 2014 Honda City’s petrol variants have a range of Rs. 7.42 lakh to Rs. 10.98 lakh, while the diesel variants’ price range is Rs. 8.62 lakh to Rs. 11.10 lakh.
