Japanese carmaker Honda has carried out the global preview of its latest City Mugen model in Phillipines on 23th April 2014 which will be available for sale after September. The model has been received several changes to its interiors and exteriors comprising improved suspension and engine.  According to senior marketing executive from Honda’s Mugen division, Phillipines is the largest market for this range besides its Japanese domestic market. The car’s exterior appear like the Honda City with more streamlined body and Mugen sedan is available in only taffeta white color and will be produced in limited numbers of 20 units only. The car’s front and rear pillars have Mugen’s traditional colors of red, gold and black in a wide swathe from top of windshield to side.

The distinct feature that differentiates its front profile from other Honda models is a “Mugen” logo instead of Honda’s trademark “H” logo across front grille on front. Its 17 inch alloy wheels have black finish with elegant eight spoke design and perky roof spoiler on rear windshield. The Philippines division of Honda concentrates on making cars for motorsports therefore Mugen developed by it is a sporty version of Honda city sedan. To make its body structure more aerodynamic the Mugen has been provided with air splitter in front and air diffuser in its rear side for easy airflow. The combination of side skirts all around the car along with fiber covers on rearview mirrors give its side profile a stylish appearance when combined with antenna shaped like shark tail above rear windshield.

The Honda Mugen has been designed for people with discerning taste who appreciate dynamic styling coupled with spirited driving power to form a premium combination of elegant machinery which can be driven with pride on city roads. To make the Mugen exclusive its interiors have been fitted with special accessories which are available through special retail stores and fixed at factory if demand by client before delivery.  In Japanese “Mugen” stands for infinite therefore this division of Honda works in partnership with “M-TEC Co Ltd” which distributes all branded accessories under this name around the world.

The heritage of Mugen is built around racing therefore it has a range of powerful engine and premium parts which are built in partnership with Honda. The Mugen brand is recognized in racing circles due to participation in several circles like Super GT and Formula One, Grand Prix etc. The Mugen  is also specialized in retuning engines to improve speed and pickup along with making customized products for Honda since 1980’s. The Mugen city car is powered by 1.5 liter petrol engine which is partnered with four cylinder mechanism and has output of 120 PS along with torque of 14.8 kgm. The entry level trim of Mugen City has five speed manual transmission system while its top trims have CVT transmission.  Honda’s Mugen was launched in Phillipines since it already has a large fan following in this nation and the car which focuses on exterior looks and less on performance will not be greeted with much enthusiasm in European markets where performance matters the most.
