Honda Mobilio versus Tata Movus – Great big cars

There are many new big car launches in India such as Maruti Suzuki XA Alpha, Hyundai ix25, Honda Mobilio and Tata Movus. Tata Motors has recently launched the Movus, and Mobilio is a much awaited upcoming MPV from Honda. Movus and Mobilio are the latest obsession in big car world. Those who are keen on big cars, Movus and Mobilio are among the cars to look forward to. Let us compare both cars and select the better of the two.

Engine:

Mobilio is fitted with robust 1.5 litre diesel i-DTEC and 1.5 litre i-VTEC petrol engine. The two engines have sufficient power to push big vehicles, the petrol engine churns 146Nm and 116.3 bhp, and the diesel car produces 200Nm and 98.6bhp. The engines are coupled with five speed manual and automatic transmissions. It is incredibly fuel efficient and offers 17.2 kmpl.

Movus is injected with robust DICOR 2.2 litre turbo diesel engine that generates 250Nm and 120Ps. The same engine is used in Aria, Safari Storme and Sumo Grande. The average fuel economy offered by the car is 15.16 kmpl.

Safety:

Mobilio is engineered with optimum safety to offer immense protection, there are standard and advanced safety features. The car is tailored with EBD and ABS technology to prevent sudden skids during the event of sudden brake application. There is an immobilizer that starts the car only when right key is inserted, and maintains the temperature of the car. The other beneficial safety features are dual airbags, fog lights and keyless entry system.

Movus offers adequate safety; the suspension is engineered to thrive on challenging surfaces. The front has independent double wishbone with coil springs, on the back is parabolic leaf type of suspension.

Appearance:

Mobilio is a MPV version of Brio hatch, and looks grand; the production images of the car are out on the web. It looks magnificently stunning and is bigger than its arch rival Ertiga.

Movus looks trendy as well, but sports usual conventional SUV looks.

Wheels:

Mobilio has 16 inch alloy wheels; the wheel arch design is unique and trendy with Honda symbol in middle. The wheels offer excellent grip on road and can tackle the impact of strenuous off roads.

Wheelbase measurement of Movus is 2550mm; ground clearance is 180mm, which makes it convenient for effective entry and exit. The turning radius of the car is 5.35mm, and tilt able type of power steering enables superior manoeuvring in jam packed traffic conditions.

Mobilio costs Rs 7.7lakhs and Movus is priced at Rs 6.9 to 7.5 lakhs

Movus and Mobilio are interesting cars to look forward to; Mobilio poses greater excitement, mainly because of its enormous dimension and offers an amazing homely effect caused by the large window panes.  Movus is a fun car for extreme adventures; it has a greater engine capacity. Honda will launch Mobilio in July this year.

The two cars offer value for money for their splendid style and engine power, Mobilio would suit those who are keen on luxurious and homely drives. Movus is perfect for off-road adventures.
