Both Toyota and Honda are great market competitors and fellow Japanese car majors. While Toyota is the world’s largest car maker, Honda is a major competitor of Toyota and takes away many buyers with its gorgeously styled cars. When it comes to superb comfort, reliability and even performance, Toyota scores much more, but Honda’s superb styling and premium interiors surely looks great compared to Toyota cars. in terms of dimensions, the Honda City and the Toyota Vios are almost alike. Both these superb sedans offer highly spacious and premium comfortable cabin. The Honda City is 4,410mm long and the Toyota Vios is of exactly the same length. Honda City is however wider with a width of 1715mm, while the Toyota Vios’ width is miniscule lesser with 1,700mm of width. The Vios is taller than the City and is 1,475mm high, whereas the City is 1470mm high.  And finally, when it comes to the all important wheelbase, then both the sedans have the same wheelbase of 2,550 mm.

Powertrains:

Again both the sedans also have the same engine capacity. Both the cars have engines of 1.497cc displacement that are rounded to 1.5 liters. Honda City packs in a great i-VTEC, 4 cylinder SOHC engine. This capable engine has the capability to produce a max power of 120 PS and 145 NM of peak torque. The same goes for the Toyota Vios, which has a 1.5 liter VVT-i, 4-cylinder engine which has the capability to generate a max power output of 109 PS and a peak torque of 14.4kgm. In terms of power and performance also the Honda City and the Toyota Vios are also quite alike. Both the engines of these two sedans are also equipped with a standard 5 speed manual transmission gearbox and also offers an optional 4 speed automatic transmission gearbox.

Again, both the Honda City and the Toyota Vios offer pretty similar feature list as well to the consume. Both the sedans offer great audio systems with CD, MP3, USB as well as iPod. However, the new Toyota Vios offers a better infotainment system that offers more comprehensive features such as internet via Wi-Fi, which the Honda City does not offer.
