The assembly procedure is carried out in Honda’s Meleka plant, the new Jazz is sold in three variants, V, E and S. All of them are fitted with a robust iVTEC petrol 1.5 liter engine that generates peak energies of 145Nm and 120PS. The engine is coupled with CVT gearbox, the main transmission used in all cars. The new Jazz is high on mileage and moves at 17.81 km per liter.

Customers who are yearning to buy the new Jazz can bank on being secure; the high-end V car has all the required safety features with emergency start stop signal, hill start assist, vehicle stability assist, anti-lock brake system and six airbags. The other interesting features to look forward to are, keyless entry, multi-function steering wheel, Siri Eyes, automatic climate control, top class multimedia infotainment system with touchscreen and sixteen inch alloy wheels. The price structure of the car varies between RM 72,800 to 87,800 RM (Rs 13.74 to 16.58 INR).

The excitement does not stop here; Honda has two styling equipments on offer, Mugen and Modulo. The Mugen package comes with sporty alloy wheels and spoiler and the Modulo kit is offered with illuminated side steps, silver pedals and bodykit. The costs of Mugen and Modulo equipments are RM 4,900 (92,500 INR) and RM 2,650 (50,000 INR).

Honda cars exhibit an unbeatable shine, the current Jazz is a dream come true model for many. Despite its sparkling glow it did not do too well, the company’s vision with new Jazz is to bring in value and cost-effectiveness. Honda has used the cost-effective technique in Amaze, it is a mid size sedan priced at Rs 5 to 8.21 lakhs. It is the company’s first diesel venture and offers a world class 25.8kmpl mileage. Amaze has worked wonders and attracted an overflow of buyers, a boon under the current constrained economy. Honda is probably expecting the same glory with new Jazz.

Honda has not exposed the exact launch date of the new Jazz, at the moment it is predicted that the vehicle might come end of this year or next calendar year. The new Jazz is a potential threat; it will give chills to a number of current and upcoming cars. Its fierce rivals are Fiat Punto, Tata Bolt, Volkswagen Polo and Maruti Swift. It costs Rs 5 to 7 lakhs.

Lucky ones in Malaysia can finally tuck into the new Jazz, and what is even more interesting is the new Mugen and Modulo body kits. There is so much of excitement to look forward to, let’s hope a similar level of exhilaration comes to India.
