The all-new 2014 Honda Jazz was unveiled in India at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, though the actual India launch of the car is still not finalized. Now, Honda Malaysia has already started taking bookings for the new generation Jazz premium hatchback. The all new 2014 Honda Jazz has been launched in several international car markets, while India is speculated to get the hatchback either by the end of this year or towards the beginning of next year.

The all-new Honda Jazz will start its second life in the Indian car market in its new avatar an along with a diesel counterpart this time around. The new diesel variants of the Jazz are expected to get the car equal amount of success as its cousins City and Amaze. For the time being, Honda is busy preparing for the imminent launch of the new Mobilio MPV, after which it will be Jazz’s turn to spread its charm spell on the Indians. As per the latest reports, the Jazz will most probably launch early next year and make for a new year Honda launch for 2015.

The all new Honda Jazz is really an all new car, based on an entirely new platform the hatchback is now a longer and bigger car than before. This means that the Jazz will be offering more interior space and enhanced leg room. The car also has a fully redesigned interior.

The all new Jazz flaunts Honda’s new ‘EXCITING H!!!’ design philosophy, with an attractive front fascia with a winged chrome grille design and City light headlights. The rear end is still styled similar to that of the previous generation model, but now gets LED tail lights. On the inside, the car gets the borrowed dashboard from the City, and the touch screen infotainment system and touch sensitive automatic A.C also similar to the City. The car also offers rear AC vents as most of its market rivals.

In the car market of Malaysia, the new Jazz is available powered only with the City’s 1.5 liter i-VTEC petrol engine. However in India, the car will get either the 1.2 liter i-VTEC petrol or the 1.5 liter i-VTEC petrol engine that powers the all new City in India. The new Jazz in India will also pack in the 1.5 liter i-DTEC diesel engine. The City’s 1.5 liter i-VTEC petrol engine churns out a max power of 117bhp and 145Nm of peak torque, which should beat the market competition for the Jazz rivals in India. On the other hand, the 1.5 liter i-DTEC diesel engine offers a vigorous max power of 98bhp and 200Nm of peak torque which should make the hatchback really powerful in its league. Moreover, the superb fuel economy of the 1.5 i-DTEC diesel engine would also make the all new Jazz the fuel efficient hatchback in India. If Honda can price the all new Jazz right this time, then there’s no stopping this car.
