So how is the 2015 CR-V distinct from its predecessors?

Basic Changes and Exteriors

In 2015, the CR-V is now offered with 4-cyclinder direct injected engine which is used in Accord’s along with CVT (continuously variable transmission).  For those not in the know, the CVT which can be very effective as it can change to an infinite number while working on gear ratios. Interiors

The interiors feature improved texturing and martial qualities. The Honda CR-V boasts of a new 7 inch capacitive touchscreen. The infotainment interface is top notch, and will definitely be one of the new car’s talking points.  Honda’s infotainment interface is called “Honda Link”.

Honda has replaced the previous year’s 2.4 liter V4 cylinder with the Earthdreams 2.4-liter engine. The engine is already present in the Accord & able to run smoother with the help of direct-injected with a pair of chain-driven counter-rotating balance shafts and forged steel crankshaft.  185 bhp is the norm, as was that of the previous engine. However, the new engine offers 181 pound-feet, up from its predecessor’s 163. This enhances responsiveness and acceleration.

The new CVT gearbox is lighter and more compact, it has a wider overall spread. The two options available to the customers are those of a 4WD and an all-wheel drive.  The new engine-transmission combo has greatly enhanced the CR-V’s fuel efficiency. This makes the CR-V possibly the best in its class as far as fuel efficiency is concerned.

Trims and Ride Quality

The various trim levels are the LX, EX, EX-L, EX-L Nav and Touring. Each trim has undergone manifold upgrades.  The ride quality is excellent and the motion-adaptive electric power steering makes driving very easy.  The steering is the best in its class as far as responsiveness and feedback is concerned.

Conclusion

Overall, the 2015 CR-V may not be the most daring car in its class, but it is an excellent all-round product. Its numerous upgrades and well-worked out features combine to produce a truly excellent vehicle which can proudly boast of being the best family-friendly SUV to have graced the market thus far.
