Reports suggest that Honda will soon come up with its 6-speed Manual transmission and it’ll be paired with the 1.5 Litre I-DTEC diesel. Talking about its segment, for now only Hyundai Elite i20 offers a 6-speed manual transmission with the diesel. Looks like Jazz is planning on getting down its rival Elite i20! The other rivals will be Fiat Punto EVO, Suzuki Swift, and VW Polo all come with a 5 speed manual gearbox.

The diesel in Jazz is similar to that of City and the Amaze-the 1.5 litre i-DTEC motors with a power of 100 PS and a max torque of 200 Nm. With the similar kind of 6-speed manual of the city, the hatch is expected to give 26 + kmpl (which is similar to that of the City). In addition, the extra gear will also give Jazz a relaxed highway cruising. Honda will be offering a 15.7 litre cm touch screen infotainment system along with a non-touch 12.7 cm audio system. On similar lines, Honda shares most of its features like City.

Talking about the other interiors, the dashboard is completely black with silver accents similar to that of the city, while the instrumentation cluster is slightly different. The expected price would be in the range of 5 lakh to 8 lakh.

Jazz that failed to create any buzz in the market previously, will now have a completely new design and a diesel powertrain. Besides, the vehicle is built on a similar platform to that of the new Generation City. The new launch is expected to happen in mid-July of this year. The car has already been spotted at the yard and is ready to hit the market. The snapped car is a top variant (VX) of hatchback that’ll be featuring electrically adjustable ORVM with indicators, rear windshield wiper/ washer with fog lamps and turn signals. The other exteriors of the car will include a Chrome grille, spoke alloys, body coloured doors, roof spoiler with stop light and rear registration plate enclosure.

Additional features like Bluetooth enabled infotainment system and keyless entry will also be offered. The car is to be made available in four different variants mainly; E, S, V and VX. Though the company uses 1.5 litre i-DTEC diesel engine with other cars as well, it’ll return with 27.3 km/l with the jazz. To achieve higher fuel efficiency, the new innovation will come up with 8 percent taller gear ratios in comparison to the City and other cars by making use of the same engine.

Honda Jazz is expected to make a remarkable comeback in 2015, with a hope of erasing all the memories of its predecessors. The last car which proved to be a failure is set to benchmark what a premium car should be. The car will spacious and efficient. Since the last car was observed to be highly priced, it failed to hit Honda, and now with a comeback a lot is expected to change. Honda has understood a lot about market now, and has experienced a hard ball in the mass segments.
