Honda Brio’s 2016 year model still not available in market

The 2016 model of the Honda Brio entry level compact hatchback has not reached the dealers yet, as per reports. Reports say that some dealership outlets in New Delhi as well as Mumbai have revealed that the 2016 Honda Brio batch of models has not yet reached the dealers.

The Honda Brio, the company’s entry level model and the cheapest offering was Honda Cars India’s savior during its days of struggle in the Indian car market as it broke the expensive stigma attached to Honda cars. However, Brio could never be actually the company’s game changer in India, and while it went on to offer many other Honda cars based on its platform in India and global market, the Brio’s sells kept on falling. Over the last two years, the Honda Brio hatch hasn’t been doing very well in India, and the delay of the 2016 models of the car could be the company’s way to clear the piled-up stocks.

The Honda Brio belongs to the popular compact hatchback segment of India, which has high selling car models. The Brio’s popular market rivals in India easily manage to get the sales volumes of more than 10,000 units on average per month. However, for the Honda Brio crossing even the minimum sales mark of 1,000 units per month has also not been possible for some time now. Owing to the poor market performance of the Brio, Honda Cars India has obviously shifted its focus on the high sales volume drawers like the company’s bestselling product the Honda City premium sedan and the new generation Honda Jazz premium hatchback that was introduced to India in July, 2015.

Honda Cars India might be resuming the production of the Brio small hatch, once the company clears the already present inventory of the car. On the other hand, it is also very much possible that the company is currently busy utilizing the Brio’s assembly line for rolling out the new BR-V compact SUV model that is going to hit the Indian car market later this year. However, it is possible too early for Honda Cars India to commence the production of the new BR-V. It is good to mention that the new Honda BR-V SUV is also based on the extended version of the Brio’s platform just like the Honda Mobilio MPV, while the Amaze uses the same platform as the Brio hatchback.

The capable and stylish Honda Brio hatch’s sales is hurt most by the lack of a diesel counterpart, while its glass hatch design has also not gone down well with some potential buyers. While Honda has already confirmed at the 2016 Auto Expo that the company has no plans of introducing a diesel Brio model, a refreshed Brio can be expected in some time.

Interested Honda Brio hatchback buyers can get home the car’s 2015 year model with attractive offers. Some Honda dealership outlets in India are offering discounts of around Rs. 15,000, while benefits such as insurance for Rs.1 are also available.
