Honda Cars India has launched the Brio small hatchback in India sometime back and is now planning to launch the automatic variant of the Brio car in India in the next couple of weekly before the festive season to give a tough fight to its rivals including the Hyundai i10 and the Maruti Suzuki A-Star which is already been offered with an automatic variant.

The Brio will be powered by the same 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine that generates 88 PS of power at 6000rpm and 109 Nm of torque at 4600rpm. The company has a collapsible electric power steering that and has a fuel-efficiency figure at 18.4 Kmpl for the manual variant and might slightly differ from the automatic variant. The Brio has a 4.5m turning radius with front disc braking system and drum brakes at the rear.

Honda Brio has a McPherson Strut suspension system in the front and Torsion Beam Axle at the rear. It is offered with 175/65 R14 82T tyres and has a fuel capacity of 35 litre with a seating capacity of 5. Honda Cars India should b releasing a four-speed automatic based on the City’s 5-speed torque converter and there is another option which Honda uses in Indonesia with a five-speed for India which is in doubt that will be launched in India, where there is no option for paddle shift behind the steering wheel, they might just get rid of the “S” model to save cost.

The Honda Brio is offered in four variant including the E MT, S MT, S(O)MT and V MT. Some of the exteriors features including Body colour front and rear bumpers offered across all variants, and body coloured ORVM is offered only on the S and V variants. The Alloy wheels are only offered on the top-variant of the car and Front fog lamps is offered on the top-end variant only. Coming to the interiors, the Brio is offered in Single Tone Beige on the base and mid-variant and a Dual Tone Beige on the top variant only.

Honda should not only be thinking to offer Brio AT on the high-end variant and they should also think about having the car offered in the mid-variant of the car to make a better option for the buyers to get a practical car.

The Brio will mark its first anniversary on 27th of September, as it will a perfect time for them to offer the Automatic variant. Apart from this, the company should also think about introducing few more features to the car to be the viable option for the buyers compared to the rivals which offers, quality and best-in class features.
