There is something special about Japanese brands. Anything they make sparks technology and refinement. Apparently the Japanese engineers are obsessed with perfection and keep trying too hard to get everything just right. Thank god they do so that others try to keep up and match their level. Honda has given the Indian car market some of the best cards and some great class leaders. I still remember the first time I drove the Honda City that they sold first in India.

Honda is doing pretty good in the Indian market with the new launches (or even the pretty old ones). The pretty little hatch Brio was selling in good numbers and it should. It is a great car for the price and there is absolutely no big flaw you can find. It has got a great engine, nice looks and great interior space for its size. This year however, they went viral by bringing in the much awaited diesel engine in the Amaze. Honda Amaze is their response to the challenge set by Suzuki Dzire and no matter how much I dislike the looks of both cars, they are doing well. Amaze has got a 1500 cc diesel or the 1200 cc petrol from the brio and has a length less than 4 meters.

The current lineup has been performing okay in the market but the car market is going through a down phase right now so they aren’t stacking good numbers either. The city has been class leader for long time and it is a great package but the non-availability of a diesel engine pushed down the sales. The Jazz hasn’t been selling in good numbers either.

Other cars in the lineup are being updated though. The Civic as launched in India first still looks great. We absolutely adore the current car for its futuristic looks and great engine and the new one is going to be even better. It follows the design theme from the current city and has got an even sharper arrow head.

The new car won’t be down on anything from the current model and won’t be neutralized at all. It will be as aggressive just like the outgoing model. It would make it to showroom in third quarter of this year.

Another update in the list of cars is the CR-V. It has been a great car once it was launched long back. The 4th generation CR-V has finally made it to the Indian shores. It is fresh and seems to be quite capable and would put up a good fight in the premium SUV category. There is still no diesel on offer but the petrol is capable enough and the updated looks would aid the sales.

Honda is a brand known for quality and adherence to latest technology. They make fuel efficient vehicles which perform well and serve as a great overall package. The Honda Amaze is slowly making it to the Indian roads and the new Civic will set new trends too.
