The all new 2014 Honda Jazz is expected to have a diesel variant

The leaked pictures of the all new 2014 Honda Jazz (Honda Fit in some markets) has compelled the Japanese automaker to announce the launch time of this next generation car. Honda has confirmed that the next-gen Jazz will hit the domestic car market of Japan in the month of September, 2013. The Japanese luxury car maker has also revealed that the all new 2014 model will be bigger and longer.

The next-gen car will thus offer 65 mm more legroom as compared to the ongoing model. Owing to the increased space, a longer wheel base is expected. The car’s cabin also claims to be more luxurious and classy with more premium quality materials.

The latest leaked pictures of the Honda Jazz reveals its new styling, and the spy pics of the car’s interior also confirms the continuation of the Honda Jazz hybrid model. The styling clearly shows its inspiration drawn from the design language of the new Honda Civic.

The all new Honda Jazz is expected to make a world debut at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show that is scheduled in September, 2013 before the car hits the Japanese car market. The European market is expecting the arrival of the all new Jazz till the beginning of the year 2014, while the Indian market is expecting to get the car towards the end of 2014.

The new Jazz is expected to arrive with a class leading boot space of around 400 liter with wonder seats that will fold up with a touch of a button to provide even more cargo space. The all new 2014 Honda Jazz is expected to be offered in both the fuel options of petrol as well as diesel. The new engine range is supposed to be kept familiar, with a 1.2 liter as well as 1.4 liter petrol motors.

Though Honda did not offer a diesel variant of the Jazz before, it is expected to offer it this time powered by a 1.6 liter diesel motor that debuted with the Honda Civic at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. This same diesel engine is also expected to power the Honda CR-V later this year. This very efficient and powerful diesel engine delivers a peak torque of 300Nm, while emitting a mere 119 gm of CO2 per km.
