The second generation Honda Jazz was not launched in India despite market reports announcing several dates as this model’s production has been stopped and Honda is concentrating on meeting demands of its Amaze model to be launched soon. However the third generation Honda Jazz will be introduced in two formats as an MUV and hatchback.

New Honda Jazz 2014 2015

The third generation Honda Jazz hatchback has already been launched in Japan with better style and stronger engine than before and is likely to be sold as Honda Fit in United States and Asia to give it a different identity. In UK it will continue with Jazz badge and will be available from spring of 2014 and in other parts of Asia will be sold as Honda Fit. The new Honda Jazz was launched in Japan in September 2013 which received enthusiastic attention from customers and orders fast surpassed supplies. It is being sold in Japan with two petrol engine and one hybrid engine variant to satisfy demands of an environment conscious nation.

The Honda Fit aka Jazz has received a very enthusiastic welcome from Japanese customers and its production unit is struggling to cope with this unprecedented demand. Therefore there is a delay in launching this car in international locations. The Jazz therefore will arrive in India towards June-July of 2014 with petrol and diesel variants with 1.5 i-DTEC motor which is similar to Amaze. This model will be manufactured in company’s Indian unit to be supplied across Asia and United Kingdom. The Honda Jazz will also be available in three trims named F, L and S with two and four wheel drive options. In Indian markets the Honda Jazz is likely to be sold as a mid range car priced between INR 9 to 12 lakhs alongside its Brio and Amaze cars. Its wide rear body with three seats will improve car capacity to five-seater with miniscule boot space.

The hatchback Jazz car will be first entrant into Indian markets after which the SUV variant will follow as by then excitement around existing compact SUV’s namely Eco sport and Duster would have died down. With a new feature packed Jazz hatchback which has already gained popularity in Japanese markets generating sufficient buzz, Honda expects people with better financial status to wait eagerly for an SUV variant. Maruti Suzuki has also announced launch of its SUV car the Maruti XA Alpha in early 2014, while Mahindra will introduce its improved Scorpio, therefore Honda seems to be playing a waiting game to see market reaction to these cars. This may be the reason why no official press releases are forthcoming from Honda about why Jazz 2014 launch is delayed as company wants to retain sense of secrecy and excitement around the brand name. Other suggestions clouding the issue have been unconfirmed reports that there will be variations in the hatchback Jazz model in every market wherever it is launched leading to more confusion. But customers are assured that whenever the Jazz is launched in India it will create enough excitement to last a few months until another Honda car is introduced.
