Honda Amaze and Maruti Suzuki SX4 – Blood shedding battle

The launch of Amaze in April 2013, has worked wonders for Honda cars India, the company has been on a profit roll, and in November 2013, Honda recorded impressive 151% sale profits compared to last year. Amaze has churned a range of arch rivals few of them being Maruti Suzuki Sx4, Maruti Swift Dzire, Chevrolet Sail, Ford Classic and Fiat Linea.

Honda has certainly encountered positively shocking moments with Amaze; let us now compare it with one of its fierce competitors Maruti Suzuki SX4. Amaze is a sedan version of Brio, and sports an amazing eye candy appearance, with artistic eye catching head lights, classy alloy wheels, and inventive back lamps. Although Amaze is a below four meter car, the interiors are luxuriously spacious, with herd of stunning features such as royal beige and blue color theme, world class audio system, sporty speedometer, and outer rear view mirrors.

This features was extensively publicized months before its launch, the petrol car also maneuvers with an excellent mileage of 18 kmpl and is equipped with a potent 1.2 liter iVTEC engine that releases 86 bhp and 109Nm. Its diesel counterpart is inserted with an efficient 1.5 liter iDTEC power train, that yields 98bhp and 200Nm torque.

SX4 diesel is incorporated with a powerful 1.3 liter diesel engine that releases 200Nm torque and 88bhp. The petrol variant is inserted with VVT DOHC 16 valve engine, with a splendid 1586 displacement capacity, and churns 145Nm torque and 102.7 bhp power. The car moves with a mileage of 11.5 kmpl on ideal city conditions.

Amaze besides being a stunner with respect to mileage, interior comfort and appearance, comes with a killer price tag of Rs 5.25 to 7.91 lakhs, the Sx4 costs Rs 7.66 to 10.26 lakhs.

Although both cars pose equally appealing fashion statements, Amaze is a more reliable purchase in terms of mileage.
