In the coming year, Honda is all set to launch new Honda City on 7th January in India. This car might collect pretty high sales in this segment. The petrol version of Honda City was successful too but due to unavailability of diesel variant the sale was not on higher side. The Tokyo based company has successfully implemented Earth Dreams Technology making it competitive in the market. There’s a high possibility of this car dominating others due to the diesel engine powered in it. Many are comparing this upcoming City with Linea, Sunny and Volkswagen car.

Considering the new version of Honda City, it’s only the engine that has changed but engineers has done work on interiors, exteriors and other features too. The sporty look give to the car is just amazing and the interesting H concept included in it consists of perfectly structured body, wing face and honed surface. The specification of the car is enhanced and is packed with some added innovative technologies.

The other sedans by different brands offer comfortable features and now City also comes with maximum comforting features.  The best selling part of this vehicle is its diesel engine which is new. The diesel variant has i-DTEC 1.5 liter engine and power of the vehicle is best possible in the segment. The fuel economy offered is 26Kmpl which develops a power of about 98 bhp.

Hyundai Verna is the toughest competitor of the new City which is a mid-sized sedan. The output offered is 121 bhp and 126 bhp of petrol and diesel version which is very impressive. Volkswagen’s Vento, Maruti SX4 etc will also be a competition to the new City.

Maruti SX4 has become successful in the market with 1250cc 16 valve engine. The car delivers output of 88bhp at 4000 RPM and torque of about 200Nm along with 5 speed manual transmission. The popularity of the SX4 is huge among the masses and the sales volume of this sedan is improving day by day.

The Volkswagen Vento has proved its importance in the markets with 1.6 liter of diesel engine giving 250Nm of torque and power of 104 bhp. The price of the car is high and thus everyone cannot afford this car easily.

The new Diesel City will have the same engine as that of Amaze and the torque delivered is of 200Nm. The sedan has chrome finishing on the front grille and the cutting edge looks make it look attractive. This Diesel City could be a game changer in mid-sized segment for Honda.  The Earth Dreams Diesel Technology will turn the Honda’s fortune in India. The launch of this car improves the sales figures of Honda in India. The rivalry in the sedan segments is stiffening and new Diesel variant of the City will face a tough competition in the market.

The price bracket of the car is very attractive and a bit more than the petrol variant which is somewhere between 7.5Lakhs to 11.5Lakhs. This new compact sedan will reach showrooms in Jan.
