The incredibly good time of Honda Cars India is continued as the company registered a massive 123 percent sales growth in the month of February. Good fortune is showered on the Japanese premium car maker as it recorded the domestic monthly sales of 14,543 vehicles last month as compared against the sale of just 6510 units in the same month of the previous year.

Expressing the great pleasure on the Honda Cars India’s performance, the company’s Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales, Mr. Jnaneswar Sen said that the company is very happy to see the massive demand for the all new Honda City. The new Honda City has gained the top most position in its own segment in terms of sales from the first month of its launch itself. He added that the deliveries of the Petrol version of the City has begun from February and as the company’s both car manufacturing facilities are operating now, Honda will be able to deliver its cars quicker and be able cater to the huge growing demand of the customers.

He further added that the excise duty reduction that was announced during the Interim budget in the month of February has enabled the company to make its cars even better attractively priced. Honda Cars India has registered an overall sales growth of 83 percent in the time period of April 2013 to February 2014 by selling a total of 115,913 vehicles as against the sale of 63,439 vehicles during the same period of the previous year. Honda India had also exported a total of 252 vehicles in the month of February this year.

The astounding sales growth of Honda Cars India in a time when the Indian car industry is still under the effects of a very long slowdown is really remarkable. The sudden turn of fortunes for Honda India was certainly ushered in by the Amaze compact sedan which is the company’s first diesel car in India. The astral success of the Brio based Amaze which was launched in April last year has been carried forward by the all new 2014 City sedan that launched in January 2014.

The 4th generation model of the Honda City ensured that the company’s growing sales numbers are even further increased. The City which once gained the top position in its segment was taken over by the Hyundai Verna, due to the lack of a diesel variant as well as lesser features. The diminishing stature of the previous City was altered by the all new City that came with alluring new looks, great feature list and most importantly a first time diesel counterpart.

Honda India commenced the delivery of the diesel models after the car’s market launch and recently started the petrol models’ delivery as well. The City which is now the C segment ruler is expected to get even higher demands. In the month of February, Honda India sold a total 1235 units of the Brio, 6030 units of Amaze, 7213 of new City and 65 units of CRV.
