Honda Amaze compact sedan achieves the sales milestone of 88000 units in India

Honda Cars India is still reveling in the high success of its two cars, namely the new City and the Amaze. Though the new City sedan launched in January this year is raking phenomenal volumes, the Amaze compact sedan can still be termed as real star for the company, as this car started Honda’s upward journey and turned the company’s fortunes overnight. Yet again, the Honda Amaze has achieved another sales milestone by reaching the 88,000 unit sales mark just within a span of one year since its India launch in April 2014.

The company’s Senior Vice President of Marketing & Sales division, Jnaneswar Sen said that living up to its position in the Indian market, Honda has certainly changed many lives with the one car named Amaze. The Honda Amaze has been a true game changer for the company, as it has ensured that HCIL can reach out to many new customers, making then happy Honda customers.

The Amaze has been a blockbuster hit and the new turning point for Honda Cars India’s fortunes. The Amaze is the first diesel car from Honda India and its new incredibly efficient 1.5 liter i-DTEC diesel engine has ensured the Amaze’s phenomenal success, though the car’s petrol version is also equally hit. Honda in fact, took the Indian car market by storm with a great product like the Amaze. The Amaze diesel variant offers a superb mileage of 25.8kmpl which was the industry best before the launch of the new City sedan diesel which offers slightly greater mileage. However, the Amaze’s diesel mill does the duty even under the new City’s hood, which has been tweaked by Honda to offer the even more incredible industry best fuel efficiency.

The Honda Amaze diesel’s 1.5 liter i-DTEC mill has the capability to churn out the maximum power of 98.6bhp and a peak torque of 200Nm. On the other hand, the Amaze petrol is powered by a 1.2 liter engine that generates 86.8bhp of power and 109Nm of torque.

However, not only the introduction of the first diesel car helped Honda to get major sales success in India, as the company’s smart pricing strategy also worked with the Amaze. The Amaze is priced very competitively and ranges from Rs. 4.99 to Rs. 7.49 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). This great pricing strategy made the Indian consumers really fall for the amazing new Honda Amaze. The smart pricing has been possible with the Amaze’s sub-4 meter length that offers tax subsidy and the parts and platform sharing with the popular Brio hatchback.

The Honda Amaze also offers a fresh and stylish exterior design that is a given for all Honda cars. The compact sedan also offers great interior space and comfort and is equipped with creature comforts such as entertainment system with USB and Aux-in capabilities along with stylish interior design.
