The Indian car market is highly competitive and the global auto majors are all very eager to make their individual mark in this highly potential market. Among the major international players in India, Honda is one important contender. The Japanese luxury car brand has its presence in India as Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL), which is the leading brand of premium vehicles in India.

Honda Cars India was not among the top car makers in India, owing to the price sensitive Indian consumers and its high price tags. However, all this has changed massively of late, and the Japanese luxury car major is growing by leaps and bounds in India. The sole reason of this major change is attributed to Honda’s latest Indian launch and the first diesel offering in India in the form of the Amaze compact sedan.

The Honda Amaze compact sedan has changed the company’s fortunes in India almost overnight and made it stand among the top Indian car makers at present. But this is not all; the Amaze is also expected to further heighten this newly achieved success for Honda in the coming times. Based on the popular Brio hatchback, the Amaze comes with great efficiency, features and best fuel economy (diesel) in India, and what is more important it also comes with a great competitive price tag. Owing to all its awesome qualities and reasonable price, the Amaze is already giving a very tough competition to the segment leader entry level sedan Maruti Suzuki Dzire.

Totally elated by the high flying success post Amaze launch, Honda Cars India has already announced that it is going to bring in several new models in the Indian car market by 2015. Among this will be the all new 2014 Jazz, the Mobilio MPV, a new compact SUV and one or two other new cars and variants among which the CNG Amaze will also be there. Moreover, Honda has decided to bring in both the petrol as well as diesel variants of its upcoming cars in India considering the mind blowing response to the Amaze diesel. The diesel variant of the very classy Honda City is also expected to land up in India sometime in the year 2014. Thus, there will be a whole lot of new Honda cars and variants expanding the company’s product offering in India.

Honda Cars India has also witnessed a massive sales surge of 88 percent in the month of September, 2013 with the cumulative sales of 10,354 units as compared against the sale of 5,508 vehicles in the corresponding month in the previous year.

While speaking on the company’s sales performance, the Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Honda Cars India, Mr. Jnaneswar Sen said that the company has an outstanding sales performance despite a menacing market slump. The company is happy to witness a huge demand for the Amaze and Brio cars. As a fresh and special offering for the festive season, Honda Cars has also introduced the Brio ‘Exclusive’ edition with elegant black interiors and attractive features to appeal to the valued customers.
